Reverse osmosis (RO) equipment uses a high-pressure pump to pressurize water, forcing water molecules through a semi-permeable membrane (reverse osmosis membrane), while dissolved salts, organic matter, microorganisms, and other impurities are retained, thus purifying the water. Core components include a high-pressure pump, reverse osmosis membrane, pressure vessel, pretreatment system (such as sand filter, carbon filter), and control system.
Multi-media Filter: Backwash according to changes in influent turbidity and pressure difference to prevent filter media from caking and sticking.
Activated Carbon Filter: Replace filter media every 6-12 months to ensure adsorption of residual chlorine (≤0.1mg/L) and organic matter.
Softener: Perform regular regeneration treatment, adding a special regenerant to reduce water hardness.
Security Filter: Replace immediately when the filter element pressure difference exceeds 0.1MPa to prevent membrane surface scratches.
2. Reverse Osmosis System Maintenance
Membrane Modules: Clean at least quarterly, using acidic or alkaline cleaning agents depending on the type of fouling. For long-term shutdowns, soak the membrane modules in a protective solution.
High-Pressure Pump: Regularly check oil level, vibration, and noise levels.
Operating Parameters: Record inlet water pressure, permeate flow rate, and water conductivity daily. Be alert for membrane fouling if the inter-stage pressure difference exceeds the initial value by 0.07-0.1 MPa.
3. Post-Treatment System Maintenance
UV Sterilization: UV lamps have a limited lifespan and need to be replaced on time.
Precision Filter: Replace the filter element according to pressure difference changes and usage time to avoid secondary contamination.
Storage Tank: Clean and disinfect regularly to prevent microbial growth.
4. Filter Cartridge Replacement Schedule
Multi-media filter media: Replace according to pressure differential or annually. Adjust backwashing frequency based on influent turbidity.
Activated carbon filter media: Replace every 6-12 months. Replace earlier when adsorption capacity decreases.
Softening resin: Replace according to regeneration effect. Replenish regenerant regularly.
Security filter cartridge: Replace every 3-4 months when pressure differential > 0.1 MPa to prevent membrane surface scratches.
Precision filter cartridge: Replace every 2000 hours or 3-4 months, adjusting according to actual usage.
5. Other Precautions
Avoid frequent power and water outages: Frequent power and water outages will affect equipment lifespan.
Independent water supply system: Reduces the impact of the RO membrane on the water supply network.
Environmental control: The equipment should be protected from light and heat, and ensure adequate ventilation.
